We use genuine parts in our repairs; they are the same parts that came with your device when it was new. The replacement part we provide as part of the repair may contain a new or previously used genuine Apple part that has been tested to ensure it meets functional requirements. While we do not experience any data loss during any of our hardware repairs, we would still recommend completing an iTunes or iCloud backup before the repair as a good practice.
